Lee's Story
I graduated Narbonne in 1966. I also attended Fleming and Harbor City Elementary. Upon graduation I went to work at Montrose Chemical in Torrance. I worked with Butch Drumheller there. I also worked at Purex Corp. And GTE as a phone installer in Manhattan Beach before landing a job at good old Lomita Post Office. I wasn't there long before I got drafted into the Army. I also had gotten married to my little home-girl Judy Coffman. I was an infantryman and had orders for the 'Nam, but they were changed to the Old Guard in Ft Myer, Va. There I preformed Full Honor Funerals as a casket bearer. I took part in Nixon's inaugeration and President Eisenhower's funeral not to mention many of our fallen brothers. I returned to the Lomita P.O. for a couple of years before going into trucking. I hauled bulk commodities and refined petrolium products for about 12 years. We owned homes first near Long Beach State College, then in Bellflower. We finally decided it was time to get out of Cali, so in 1983 we moved near Nashville Tn. I was reinstated in the Postal Service and have been working at the Mt Juliet,Tn P.O. for 26 years now. We have two daughters Kellee and Kristi who have given us four wonderful grandchildren. True to country living, we built a log home and have been in it for 21 Years. We love Tennessee and enjoy living here. We do return to Cali on occasion to visit our family and some of our homies who still crib there.
