Davy's Story
I hope old friends will remember me as a little crazy or weird,a little different, but totally fun to be with. I liked who I was in high school. I liked the friends and experiences I was able to have. I wasn't self-secure one hundred percent of the time, but I was a good person to be with once you got to know me.
Listening to music is the best way to take the edge off a stressful day. Sleep is always good too. I also enjoy spending time alone, laying around with my animals while reading a book, or taking them to the beach or on a hike.
The wildest thing I ever did in high school was experimenting in different ways. Typical teenage risks.
My real inspirations come from what I read. I really admire writers who are able to come up with complex characters. I love living through their experiences and relating them to my own. Toni Morrison, Marianne Williamson, Amy Tan, Milton, Updik...Expand for more
e, Twain are some of my favorites. I think reflection is important. It's good to evolve as a human, to want to be a good person.
I now live in Hawaii and it's about as far away from NC as you can get. As a single parent, I wanted to raise my daughter in an exotic place. I would have taken her to Europe if I could. I just wanted to show her the world and let her know there was more than just NC. No offense to NC, I love having grown up there. But, I've always been a free spirit and really needed to have an adventure. Most of my traveling has been in mainland USA. Europe and other fantastic destinations are forthcoming.
When I scroll the names of people from Thomasville, smiles suddenly appear because of who I remember them to be. I'd love to see many people again. I wonder about Mickey Ball. I really liked him. He was very nice to me back then. I wish I had been a better friend.
