Dawn's Story
I have been married for 33 years, wonderful years I might add. I have one child, a son, who is 20. He loves all types of music, being a drummer, and working on his truck. I have worked at 3 jobs since high school. I was a word processor back in the day when a word processor was the size of a desk. I worked as a secretary for an accounting firm for 16 years. I have been working as an educational aide in the Springfield School District since 2000. Me working with kids . . . . who would have thought. I love, love, love my job. I've lived in two homes since high school, in Eugene for 5 years and on our property up the McKenzie Hwy since 1985. I like to read nonfiction. I have an old flip phone as my cell phone but I don't give out the number because I hate talking on the phone. I don't know how to use an ipad or a kindle, etc. I just recently found out what "the cloud" means in computer jargon. et more lives. I am a creature of habit. I like a routine. I am an organized person. I still use a paper calendar to keep track of my schedule because I want to see everything at one time. I still write checks because I can't stand the thought of using a debit card and then losing the receipt. I manually balance my checkbook every month down to the penny because I enjoy it. I hate to shop so "going shopping with the girls" is pure torture. Once a year before school starts I go buy a new wardrobe (2-3 pairs of blue jeans and 3-4 new shirts and I'm good to go for another year.
One of the perks of working with kids is the cute things they say like, "Miss Dawn my mom is on a diet and the ONLY thing she can eat is carbs . . . . just carbs and nothing else". Just puts a smile on your face doesn't it.
Well, that's it for my life. Amazing it's only a few paragraphs long. I hope that all of your lives are filled with true joy, happiness, and that peace that only comes from God. :)
