Dawn's Story

It has been a while but rejoined in preparation for our 50 year class reunion in 2024-2025. Two years ago I retired from Haverhill Public Schools, sold my beautiful 1790 home The Webster House, and moved to North Carolina to live with Diane and Dennis Delorier. My last seven years I went from being an assistant principal at Nettle Middle School to being the attendance coordinator and officer for thirteen elementary and middle schools. I loved the job and miss the kids everyday. It truly was a great way to end a 38 year career. Haverhill will always be my second home. I stopped coaching in 2010 or 11 at Northern Essex CC in Haverhill. It was too much to be managing a middle school and attempting to get to practice each afternoon. Little did I know that I would move to attendance and probably could have continued coaching. After coaching at Ossining from 1979-1983 I coached Haverhill both in the 80s and 90s. Boys were All-State champs in '98. That was a fun year. The years I taught I was also a class advisor at HHS for the Class of 2006. Also advisor to a club called STOP-Students Together Overcoming Prejudice and the Environmental Club. I also spent 15 years as an advisor ...Expand for more
to a six high school leadership program sponsored by the Greater Lawrence Educational Collaborative. Lots of service projects and fostering friendship amongst the kids in the Merrimack Valley. My sisters Roxanne and Diane are both doing well. Roxanne has twins that are college sophomores and Diane's daughter Jamie is finishing a master's program in Israel. Rox is still at IBM and Diane owns a party store near our home. Our brother David passed away several years ago and had a wonderful wife Tricia and four kids. We miss him everyday. Worked for the Village of Ossining and many people knew Dave. Our parents are deceased. Mom died in 2006 and our Father passed away in '90. We miss both of them dearly. Our step parents are still alive-Dottie in FL and Russ in NC. We live in a coastal beach community of two thousand. Not overrun with people in the summer and was picked top beach in NC. A place definitely to visit if you are looking for a restful vacation. We always love having others visit. We still have David's family in Ossining and go there a couple times a year. I keep busy with the yard and church activities. Jot me a line and let me know how things are going. Dawn

Our incredible Mom. Truly the most amazing person I ever knew. Her and Grandma were incredible. Set such an example for us. Forever missed.
Gary and teammate co-captains. Great leadership and meet champions.
Defended his 1500 m title. Congrats Gary on a personal best 3:54.86
Gary receiving his medal.
Crossing the finish in a personal best. Great way to finish off his career at Piedmont University.
Congrats Gary!!
Gary’s second race run an hour after his fabulous 1500 meter. Second place—on the right. The third race in 3.5 hours was the 5000. Coasted to a 5th place for four team pints. 22 Total for the team score!!
After Gary finished his fabulous 1500 he walked to the fence and thanked his Mom Roxanne for all her support and encouragement during his academic and athletic career at Piedmont. Diane right behind. Great shot.
