Dawn's Story

Life Wow! Where does one start? So much has happened since those days of long ago, as I glance over names and try to remember, the faces and laughter will always remain, but the names are distant, hard to remember. I've already posted a bio once, but at a push of a button it vanished, and I have just gotten enough motivation to try it again. First I must say life has been really good to me, I've crossed the Grand Canyon, traveled the Blue Ridge Mts. have lived North, South, East, and West, I have witnessed and seen more than most on an intimate level, I guess that means I've almost starved in the process. My parents were extremely strict and so I took off after finishing half year of 11th grade. Two years on the road, I'm one of the kids that you heard about, a "runaway" lost to the night, and I lived to tell about it. Traveling from Texas to San Diego often, to see my beloved friends, to enjoy the times we could squeeze in before I had to dissapear again, I don't know why the urge to wander was so strong in me, and fear wasn't something I possessed, the excitement of the new and unknown raced through my veins, a destination was always on my agenda. Today, I am thankful for those times, they are always there for me to reflect. I'm sure that I've lost on other things, but that's o.k. My travels introduced me to my first husband, we met in the city of Houston, he robbed drugstores and I waitressed, we left the city(in a hurry) and traveled for a year and a half, he took me to the southern states of Ga. N.Car. and S.Car. where I got to experience life 100yrs. behind time, great fun fishing and pokin around the woods and such, then we went to Colo. where we managed a high rise, left there with 3 others to cross the Grand Canyon, we ended up in Seattle Wa. as my mother lived there, we settled there and had my first child "John" in 1976, our marriage was real rocky and we separated in 78, Johnny (my husband) drowned in the Skykomish river in 1980, trying to save h...Expand for more
is dog. Johnny had a girlfriend "Sandy" who remains to be one of my dears't friends to this day, we later helped in each others births and childrearing. In 1987 I remarried a longtime mutual friend of Johnny's and mine, Dan we had already had 2 little girls 1982 Melissa-1985 Jessica, after several years we decided to make that commitment, in 1987 we had another daughter Danielle. This has been my career, my children, they have been my happiness and reason for going on when nothing else has made sense, they are the brightest achievements that I have to offer, and I am very proud of the people that they are today, I never wanted to be a doctor, lawyer, scientist, or anything like that, I just wanted to be a mom, and it doesn't pay much, there are no retirement plans, but the joy far exceeds anything I could ever buy! Also I have become one of "Jehovah's Witnesses" in 1991 I was baptized, and work towards that dedication every day, as this has been my tougher choices, as I am VERY human, and the mistake factor reigns with me, as one can read from my past, I am by far the poorest example in the flock, but I haven't found any other explanation that makes as much sense, nothing explains this mess that we live in better, and "real hope" is hard to find these days. In 1993 Dan and I divorced, some things are to exhausting to share, I was in a very abusive marriage after that for four years, and then I decided to check myself into inpatient treatment, some things are very hard to change, on my own,anyways....... My future husband was a therapist in the facility, the last thing that crossed my mind was a mate at this point, but he said when he first saw me he knew that "I was his wife", wow! Life is great, 10 years we have been together, and it just keeps getting better, I have never felt so loved and cared for, he is my best friend. It would be nice to connect with the ones that I remember, and perhaps someday we will, all are fun to visit anyways. Peace, Dawn
