Dawn's Story

Life I have a great life. I am married to a wonderful man. Of course everyone says this, but my husband is the kind of man every woman dreams of. He came from a very different background (a good one) and he brought stability and calm into my life. I have two teenage boys (17 &19), a stepdaughter (21) and a stepson (22). I have a great career. I work for Big Blue (IBM) as a business analyst. I worked in technology for 15 years (American Express & IBM) and decided to round out my technical experience with business. I transferred within the company to a business analyst role. I work with government contracts for IBM and I love it. Best of all, I work completely from home. No office, YEA! I dream of a major career change when I retire from IBM at 55. I am studying psychology, working on my BS, and plan to 'give back' by working with either children or drug addicts. LOL! I love to run. I got hooked on it while trying to drop 30 pounds. I've hurt my back in the process and have to limp along on the tredmill as of late. Not in it for running any marathons for sure. It's not a competitive thing, I just love the time for myself and the runners high I get from it. I live in Salt Lake City and have my whole life pretty much. I love this place and couldn't imagine moving away from these beautiful mountains. We love to hike and find new trails to take our ATV's on. Workplace I studied Computer Information Systems and have been working in various technologies related positions for the past 15 years. Although I have accomplished reaching success in the technology field, I sometimes wish I had chosen a field that would have allowed me to help people on a more human level such as Psychology or Nursing earlier on. This will be my second career, so it's all good. I can't complain as "I'm and IBMer". :-)
