One of Dawn's favorite quotes is:""I love you more dibs" (something Kye and I do) "Boomer Sooner" " You Can't See Your Future as Long as Your Looking Back" Here's one by one of my favorite professors, I don't know that I agree but I like going back and reading the email because well you'll see "You are one of the hardest working students I encountered while at the University of Oklahoma...you, do, however, lack a certain amount of self confidence! You absolutely deserve to have people stop and listen to you...and respect your input--it is tempered with a certain amount of wisdom and experience that so many people there lack. Keep up the amazing work. I expect that I will hear very very good things from you in the future". See a little hard to swallow for me but I better get busy so he can hear great things from me. So much that is best in us is bound up in our love of family that it remains the measure of our stability because it measures our sense of loyalty.~Haniel Long You're a daisy if you do. I'm your huckleberry. There's no place like home. "There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness but of power. They are messengers of overwheliming grief and of unspeakable love".~Washington Irving "Experience is a brutal teacher, but you learn".~CS Lewis "Family is a Haven in a Heartless World"~Christopher Lasch "The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone."--Harriet Beecher Stowe "Single biggest problem with communication is the illusion it's taking place".--George Bernard Shaw "Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world."-- Albert Einstein "Don't bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself".--William Faulkner "Nothing is so common as the wish to be remarkable".--William Shakespeare "It has been said, 'time heals all wounds.' I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pai...Expand for more
n lessens. But it is never gone". ~Rose Kennedy "Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars".~Kahlil Gibran "What do we teach our children? We should say to each of them: Do you know what you are? You are a marvel. You are unique . . . You may become a Shakespeare, a Michelangelo, a Beethoven. You have the capacity for anything". - Pablo Casals "By giving children lots of affection, you can help fill them with love and acceptance of themselves. Then that's what they will have to give away". - Wayne Dyer "Teaching kids to count is fine, but teaching them what counts is best". - Bob Talbert "Nothing is permanent in this wicked world, not even our troubles." Charlie Chaplin "You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along'". Eleanor Roosevelt "Adversity is like a strong wind. Iit tears from us all but the things that cannot be torn, so that we see ourselves as we really are". Arthur Golden". More about Dawn:"There's nothing special about me yet at the same time you bet your butt there is, if that makes sense at all. I have a great family and wonderful friends that make life worth living. I am who I am. I am hard to get to know, but once you do it's worth it. I am a loyal and honest person who tries her best to look for the best in everyone. I only let a few people in but the ones I let in are the coolest people ever. It's very hard for me to go on about myself b/c I have made my life about everyone else. My son, my brothers' kids (I'm not the typical aunt) and just my family in general. Let's see one thing...oh yeah I heard this quote in a Sugarland song the describes me quite well...I'm slow to trust but quick to fall in love. I push too hard and give too much. I may not be perfect but I promise I am worth it. I love the ocean and the beach. My favorite animals are dolphins, horses and dogs. I regret not knowing what I wanted in life sooner but being a late bloomer hasn't been horrible. With maturity I was able to enjoy my education and the knowlege of knowing just how important being your best is. I love, love, love to sing. I love to watch football and basketball is right behind it. I have an awesome mom who still is there for me every single day and I miss my dad tremendously everyday, but knowing he would be proud of who I am makes me smile.".
