Dawn's Story
Life
Since leaving Laconia High School I spent 6.5 years in the Navy. I was lucky enough to be stationed in the Bahamas for 1.5 years than went on to Bermuda for 2 years. The Navy got me back in the end. They sent me to Norfolk, VA for 3 years. While in Bermuda I had a very bad knee injury, which ended up getting me medically discharged in 1984.

After leaving the Navy, I was able to go back to school and received my BS in Zoology from Oregon State University. I spent 18+ years working in medical research. I have recently been hired to a research lab at Oregon State University. The main focus of this lab is bone research with implications to human health, including Osteoporosis.
