Dawnna's Story
Life
I am married to a great guy that I imported from the East Coast. We have been married 36 years. I work for the Department of Corrections as the Chief Deputy Warden's secretary. We have two adult children, 4 1/2 grandchildren, our daughter is expecting her first child so we will be off to Kentucky. We are raising two of our granchildren at the moment so are enduring the "teens" again. My husband is a Deacon in the Catholic Church and church activities keep us busy along with all the activity around teenagers. We live in the deep southern desert and enjoy the warm weather all year.

2. I tell everyone that I was born for retirement. We keep very busy with grandkids and Church. Now have 7 grandchildren, two granddaughters were married 1 month apart in 2013. No great grandchildren yet. One grandson is in the Army stationed in Germany, one grandson just started a job in Guymon, OK. One granddaughter is a medical assistant working in El Centro, CA, another is an organizer for Empowering Lives in Los Angeles, CA. One granddaughter is a Senior in High School. The two youngest grandsons live with us, their mom and dad. They are in the 3rd and 5th grades. Don is still an active Deacon and the Church under our new pastor really keeps him hopping. I am a little more house bound. Back issues and heart issues have slowed me down some. But I still try to teach a class or two for the Diocese of San Diego.
