William's Story

After Western, I volunteered for US Marines. Though I never went to Nam , I did my time and was discharged in 1974. I then joined Washington DC Fire Department retiring in 2007 as a captain. I then went to Iraq for 4 years as a contract firefighter. I am now living in Hagerstown,Md with my 21 year old daughter who is working on getting her Masters at Kaplan U. While working with the DCFD, I attended college as UDC and NVCC earning my degree in Fire Administrat...Expand for more
ion. I have plans of traveling around USA and world when my daughter finishes her schooling and gets a job. I got the taste for seeing more of the world from my travels in Marines and as a contract firefighter in Iraq. I still work out at the gym every day and like to keep myself in shape. I umpire for young boys baseball teams during the Summer and am currently in process of starting to volunteer for Wounded Warriors. In general, I am enjoying retirement life.
