Shari's Story
Hi all,
After Awalt, I worked 3 jobs and attended De Anza and Foothill. I got my first full time job in Menlo Park, before starting my career working for Hewlett-Packard in 1979.I met my husband in 1983, and we moved to Roseville that same year. The next year, we were married and had our first son, Brandt. Purchased our first home the following year. In 1989, our second son, Todd, was born (I got to name him after an Oakland Raider and San Francisco). I wanted to stay home with the boys, so I retired from HP in 1992, and worked at their elementary school until 1998. Then, on my 40th birthday, I graducated from college with my BA in Interdiscipline Studies (focusing on Humanities), then went on to earn my teaching credential. Did lots of subbing until I landed a great job...Expand for more
with Elk Grove Unified School District. Worked there until summer of 2007. Then, moved on to teach at Folsom State Prison for about 2 1/2 years. Now, I'm working in Fiscal Services for Dept. of Water Resources in downtown Sacramento. I love it! I work with the contractors on the State Water Project (the California Aqueduct). Water is GOLD in California.
My husband and I live on 4.6 acres in the quiet town of Loomis. We love heading to the gym, high school football games (can't get enough of that), and wine tasting. We just welcomed our first grandson, Weston Jack Goodwin, on July 16th. He's amazing and has lots of personality.
We love entertaining too, so if you're in the area, give us a call (916) 660-9115. Maybe we can get together.
Ciao,
Shari (De Martini) Goodwin
