Dean's Story

After high school went on to get BBA’s in Accounting and Finance and an MBA in Finance from the University of Wisconsin. Wanted to stay in Madison so went to work at American Family Ins, Corporate HQ. rose through the ranks to become Financial Analysis Director and eventually the Treasury Officer. Met my wife Carmen at AmFam. We’ve been married 40 years. Have 2 kids, Gina and Joe and 3 grandchildren. I was very active in my kids lives, coaching baseball, basketball and soccer teams and being the treasurer of various orgs. Also season tickets for UW foo...Expand for more
tball and basketball. After retirement in 2013, Carmen and I moved to Charlotte, NC. We really liked NC when visiting my daughter when she lived in Durham and my son when he was in law school at UNC. Now both kids and families live near us in the Charlotte area. I’ve been active traveling, prior to COVID, hiking and playing tennis. Also spending time with my children and grandchildren. I am Certified NC BBQ judge and was on the state champion Over 55 singles tennis team 2 years ago. NC is a great state, 2 hours to the mountains, 3.5 hours to the ocean.
