DeDe's Story
DeDe is currently living in Lovettsville, Virginia on the MD - W VA border. She is married to Chuck Mandrell & they raised 5 children & now have 7 grandchildren. DeDe first received an advanced certification from Brigham Young University in Learning Disabilities, Special Education. Later she attended National University School of Law & Golden Gate University (MBA/MIS). Currently she is working on an MA in Marriage & Family Therapy with a speciality in Military Counseling.
DeDe was commissioned as an Intelligence Officer in 1986. Most importantly - by name selected in critical role to directly support the Secretary of Defence, White House, J2, CJCS, & Intelligence Agencies for all planning - specific to imagery & mapping for 9/11 as Lead CDR/Military XO at the Pentagon. Managed over 125+ military & civilians during Noble Eagle/Enduring Eagle - forward deployed for National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). directly responsible for planning & providing concurrent & ever changing imagery & mapping to the J2, CJCS & all principal players determining the daily direction of the Wars. She received numerous accolades, presticious military awards & medals from the J2 & other National Intelligence Agencies for her work during 9/11.
Previously assignments included serving for the J-2 at the National Military Joint Intelligence Center (NMJIC) as Assistant Deputy Director for Intelligence (ADDI) and headed the Defense Intelligence Network (DIN) for the J-2/DIA. The DIN was considered the Intelligence CNN for the entire Intelligence Community - interfacing with all the Intelligence Commands world-wide (over 250 Commands). Additionally, was responsible for daily production of the CJCS Daily Intelligence Briefing.
DeDe was selected as Biltmore's Executive of the Year for 2014-2018 and Reebok Woman of the Year for 2003. She retired as a Commander (0-5) USN with 23+ years of service.
DeDe is currently a Disabled Veteran & has been active in DAV.
