Life
I left chicago in 1984 and headed to Tuskegee Alabama where my life would be changed forever!! I am the mother of twins (1 girl, 1 boy) and have been married for 12 years. I live in suburan Atlanta GA (McDonough) and I own a business in Atlata,GA (College Park). Now the rest of this bio I just copied from the biography section of my website. Originally from Chicago, llinois, DeShawn Bullard is one of the most sought after stylists in the world today. This diversified young lady who is a wife and mother and mother of two (twins), has a bachelor's degree in computer science from Tuskegee University. After obtaining her degree, she moved to Atlanta, GA and worked as a computer programmer for 7 years. While working as a computer programmer, she received her training in cosmetology from Atlanta Area Technical School in Atlanta, Georgia. Her love for cosmetology and desire for entrepreneurship pushed her to leave her job as a computer programmer and pursue a dream. She's now the Educational Director for Professional Products and owner/operator of Another Look Personal Hair Care Studio in Atlanta, GA and Co-Owner of Salon Industry Suites a Salon Complex Concept.
DeShawn has become known and recognized for her creative styling techniques. She has also excelled in the competition arena. won such competitions as the Bronner Brothers Day By Night Competition & Mr. Raw male texturizing category. She is an experienced Platform Artist and has conducted numerous workshops and seminars for such shows as the Bronner Brothers Trade Shows, Sally's Beauty Supply and many other Trade Shows throughout the world. Her dynamic style of teaching has afforded her international exposure to such places as Canada, Brazil, Bahamas and the Virgin Islands. In her classes, she educates stylists about the latest in hair care, business and the use of technology for the salon industry.
She is a columnist for Salon Sense Magazine and she was selected as a "Feature Entrepreneur" in Gospel Today Magazine (July 1999). You will also see her work featured in many industry magazines such as; Try it Yourself Hair, Sophisticates Hair, Passion and Hype Hair magazines. She is the creator of a very popular Atlanta website for beauty (atlantasalons.com featured in Essence Magazine) and has implemented her very own product line (NouriTress Hair Growth Products). Salon Sense Magazine selected her as one of the 50 most influential women in the beauty industry (2003 & 2004). She is also the owner of a Continuing Education School for hairstylists, and has produced four volumes her own Creative Styling Techniques Videos.
One of her latest achievements is authorship. Her new book called "Are you Running a Business OR Just Doin' Hair" is her latest achievement which has received rave reviews from her industry. She is also in the process of launching her first television show which is scheduled to air in 2005' in the local Atlanta television market.
