Dean's Story
Hola!
45 is coming fast, it seems to be moving almost as fast as my waistline. Moved back to Reno, NV immediately following Graduation in 82' been here ever since. Started working in Reno at Hexcel Ski..the one with the honeycomb center, built my own mogul ski's and found my self on the slopes about 4 days a week, you have to demo them you know. When Hexcel went into the avionics business I stayed on long enough to train the folks in Texas, then came home to Reno. Spent the better part of 7 yrs being a Live Disc Jockey, and attending CCNN and got a AA degree in Electronics Tech, and Computer Tech. Decided that the starting wage for bench techs didn't meet my approval so became a manager at a local Minit-Lube place. After 6 years of that decided I wanted to get into something else, started work at believe it or not a Ready to Eat Cereal Plant here in Sparks, NV....after all those years of bashing General Mills in Lodi. Did that for around 7 years, working the graveyard shift, 6pm to 6am....you never recover from that. After I left there I actually took 1.5 yrs off to recuperate. Took a few odd jobs, and finally decided that I should do what I was trained to do and got a job building web pages and databases. During this time opened my own Web Consulting business, building web pages and the data that goes with them. I still do this but its more of a word of mouth business now, I only work for people I want to. I do have a real job now, I work as the IT manager for The Gem Gallery here in Reno, and have moved my talents into the printed media realm.
I am the current Nevada State Babe Ruth Softball Commissioner and have made the trip to Lodi for regional tournaments over the last few years. My daughter Bryttanie is 15 and a freshman pitcher. We still have relatives in Lodi, Galt, Stockton, Modesto.
I am also the JV Head coach for Hug High School Baseball, this is the school I attended before movi...Expand for more
ng to Stockton my freshman year. For those of you who remember me I always loved baseball. My son Ashton is a Senior this year and is the starting first baseman on Varsity. I prefer to work with kids that are still learning the game.
If you have seen the movie Dazed and Confused, my life in the late 70s and 80s was a mirror of poor Mitch. Its like watching a movie about me. What a great time in my life.
Now the most important part of my life, 1990 got married to Lauren, the only woman able to put up with me, we actually met at the skating rink, I was spinning tunes, she was the lil sister of the manager's girlfriend at the time. (They are now married. We dated for around 3 years then tied the knot. We have been married for 19 years in May. Ashton was born in August of 91, and Bryttanie Rose in January of 94. We have been blessed with two great kids, both have 3.8+ gpa in school, both are exceptional athletes. Ashton played both soccer and baseball for most of his life settling with baseball in the latter years. He is active with umpiring and loves ROTC. He will graduate from Hug High here in Reno this summer and plans to attend UNR. Bryttanie is a freshman at Hug High, she also played soccer and softball for most of her life, she is the star pitcher on the JV squad this year, would be varsity as a freshman but we lived out of the zone for Hug when the school year started. She is a social butterfly being 15 going on 30. She took her all star team to its only victory in league history in a regional tournament in Concord last year. She isn't sure what she wants to do yet, it's either law enforcement like her uncle craig, or attending UNR to play softball.
As for Lauren she still puts up with all my bull, loves me in spite of myself. She is the most giving person I have ever met. Thank god!
If your ever in Reno, look me up, I am ez to find, or just look up Ezdno on the internet, you will find me.
