Deanna's Story
After graduating, I attended Edison Community College and worked at Alisten Manor where I met my husband, Greg. After nine years of dating we married in 1997.
We have never been blessed with children of our own, but we have three nieces.
Greg and I love spending time together. Scuba diving a huge part of our lives including helping with scuba classes, our vacations typically are places we can dive, and we dive almost every weekend from May to November in Ohio. (That is a dedicated diver to dive cold water or maybe just crazy.)
We love to travel and have been to Cancun several times, Yellowstone, several places in Florida, Mammoth Cave, Schliterrbahn in Texas (the largest water park in the US), Niagara Falls, and this year we will be traveling to Bonaire for 2 weeks with 5 other people for a dive vacation.
There are many places we would love to see in the future some closer than others.
My business life:
As for my career, Greg calls me a ¿professional beggar.¿ I am a fundraiser in the Foundation at Wilson Memorial Hospital since 2001. This is not something I went to school for, I am not sure I even knew I could do this for a living.

gement, which I used in the banking and lending field. Then one day I realized that I did not enjoy what I was doing. Helping others is what I wanted to do ¿ to make a difference in lives.
That night I looked at the want ads and there it was ¿ a job posting for a social services outreach coordinator for the Salvation Army. I knew that is where I was to go.
Two weeks later I began my fundraising career. Coordinating the people in need with resources they needed, sometime financial, sometimes food, and other times just a ear to listen.
Christmas was my favorite time of the year because the community was excited to help others. I established the Christmas Castle which was a clearinghouse for those in need at Christmas. The Combined Community Pantry was also a vision and working with Pastor John Geisller it became a reality.
After six years it took on toll on my health and I moved to the for-profit world for a little over a year and decided I wanted back in the fundraising field. I was fortunate to be hired at Wilson in the Foundation Office.
I would love to hear from you, please feel free to contact me anytime by emailing me at dkkindell at wilsonhospital.com.
