Deanna's Story
After high school, I attended the University of Akron, where I received my Bachelor's in Nursing. I worked for the next 5 years at EMH, the last 3 of which were in the Coronary Care Unit.
After 5 years in Nursing, I struck up a conversation with one of my patients who had, what I thought, an interesting job, Air Traffic control. I decided to take the test, just for grins. Flash forward 4 months and I had a job with the FAA and was training in Oklahoma.

nter in Oberlin for the past 20 years. I truly love my job. Some wise person once told me, find something you love to do and you will never work a day in your life (thanks Dad).
I married Bob Powell (EHS '78) and we have 2 wonderful daughters (ages 16 and 12). We travel every chance we get and as often as our schedules allow. My daughters and I spend a lot time scrapbooking pictures from our vacations. I could go on and on about my family, but words couldn't express my pride in them!!
