Deb's Story
When I left high school I attended a private college in northwest Iowa and received a two year associate degree. I also met my husband in college and a year after graduating, on March 9, 1991, we were married in Rapids. We have lived in Rock Valley, IA ever since. I worked in a bank for a while and once we started our family I worked for our local chamber of commerce part time. I eventually quit my job to stay home full time. n schools that my children attend. My husband farms with his brother and brother-in-law and so I'm often helping outside also. I enjoy taking care of my flower garden, walking, swimming with my kids and reading in the little bit of spare time I have. Our lives took a big turn in May 2007 when our oldest child was hit by a car. He was very seriously injured and spent many days in the ICU. He had several serious injuries and we have been doctoring for many months at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He has some life-long health issues as a result of his accident but is doing good now. This has been very difficult for our family but we thank God each day that he's alive.
