Debbi's Story
After High School, I attended a private college in Kankakee, Illinois, where I graduated in 1988 with a BA in Accounting.
After graduation, I took a job with a local CPA firm that I interned with during my senior year. I sat for and passed all 4 parts of the CPA exam in 1988. They tell me that passing on the first try is a noteworthy. Maybe so...I just knew I didn't want to have to take it again. It's amazing what we can do with a little inspiration, right? :-)
I stayed at that firm and in Bourbonnais, Illinois until shortly after my daughter was born in 1992. Then I decided to try my luck in a bigger city and moved to Chicago.

different CPA firms in the North Shore area. The 2 memorable experiences were with Michael Silver & Company in Skokie and American Express Tax & Business Services in Deerfield. I worked with some excellent accountants there and learned so much.
Since 2003, I have been a stay-at-home mom. Watching my daughter grow has been the most rewarding "job" I have ever had. She has matured into a 3 sport athlete, is currently ranked 14th in her class of approx. 400 students, is the president of the student council, is a member of the national honor society...the list goes on. For those of you who remember my high school years...she's everything I wasn't. lol
