Debbie's Story

Life Graduated, then went the fall semester to A&I. I married in 75 to a navy guy. He was from Pinehurst, outside of Houston. We were blessed with a boy in 76, who died of crib death in Jun of 76. Then another son in 77 who has given us a beautiful granddaughter born Nov 2001. We had a daughter born in 80. She has just blessed us with a beautiful baby boy born Aug 2006. Guess that means I am getting old... We have lived in Magnolia TX since 1982 and I worked for Bank of America thru 5 name changes since 84. Now presently unemployed and became a college student once again. My job and home keep me pretty busy. Attending college and still loving the experience...but my advice is to get the education early...Tougher to do at my age...I love working in the yard and my favorite pasttime is genealogy, reading. Although not much time now for those while in school... I have 4 min. daschunds who are my babies that keep me company while the family is away and husband is on his fishing trips out in the gulf as his hobby. I don't get to CC as often as I would like and when I do, never see anyone from school. Enjoyed my days at school, just wish I had been a little more outgoing. Enjoy connecting...Expand for more
with former classmates. Good Luck to all my former classmates. Once a Buc'always a Buc'. ======================================= May 2009 Graduated ADN (Associate Degree Nurse) getting ready to take NCLEX for my license as Registered Nurse. Start an internship at Tomball Regional Medical Center in IMCU. A little bit nervous. But will be glad to be able to earn money again...Although have enjoyed being off and attending school...Have enrolled at Texas Women's University for Spring 2010 semester to start work on Master's in Nursing. Granddaughter excited not to have her Granny having to do homework and study for exams when she visits. To all those out there who want to further their education...goes to prove you are never to old to earn a degree. ----------------------------------------Jan 2010------------------------------ Working at Tomball Regional, not far from home. Work 3-4 12hr shifts per week on the skilled unit and enjoying the job, but starting out at my age with long hours are a killer on an unfit body carrying around the extra weight. Seems never enough hours in the day to get it all done...on the days off, totally exhausted. The paychecks make it worthwhile though.
