Debbie's Story
Life
After graduating from NPHS, moved to Colorado then Texas and finished my degree in Psychology. Returned to Colorado for a while, then back to Texas to take care of my parents until their death. Worked as an Administrator for the state with juvenile delinquents for over 15 years then I decided to become an Abuse/Neglect Investigator for the state. I have 2 great dogs and eventually after I retire (can't believe I even think about it) I hope to get into training dogs for work in hospitals and with abused children. I miss my days in California but at least live near a beach, just no mountains. I love photography and spend my free time pretending I am good at it, but my family and close friends know the truth!! Would love to hear from some old classmates.
Well here is an update, it is July 4, 2012 and I am still living in Texas. Talk about hot weather!! I am still working for the state as an Investigator and even though I am eligible to retire in 2015, it looks like a dream with today's economy. I lost my most precious puppy, Cinna...Expand for more
mon this week but still have my precious Zoe. Getting older kinda stinks. I do pet sitting at my home on the side which is great, new dogs for a day or week then they go home. Been fortunate to have really great dogs stay at my home.
I hope all is well with my fellow classmates and hopefully someday we can all meet again at a reunion.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Cathy Peale, because she was my best friend..
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the bathroom and add on a more square footage. My dream home would be cabin in the woods by a lake.
In 10 years, I hope to be happily, securely retired. I'm going to get there by ??????.
My first job was at counselor at a camp for autistic and mentally retarded individuals, where I got paid $250 a session to provide care to the campers. What I remember most about it is it was very hard work!! And there were snakes at the camp, rattlesnakes.
I will never forget the fun I had riding my horse with my friend Karen Harlan and Cathy Peale. We had some good times.
