Debbie's Story
Life
Although I didn't attend Sheldon my senior year (family moved to Springfield), I attended Willagillespie Elementary, Cal Young Jr High and Sheldon through my junior year so I feel more connected to Sheldon than Springfield.
Married, moved to California right out of high school. After a brief move back to Eugene at 21 I divorced and moved to Washington. Met my husband, Dave, at 23. Spent a couple of years in Alaska (Fairbanks, 84-86) and landed in my birthplace, Longview. I have 4 kids, stepdaughter, Cathy (1972), with 3 grandkids, daughter Aimee (1982), son Sean (1983) and foster son Josh (1983). Aimee still lives at home, Sean and Josh are both in the Marines at Camp Pendleton - Josh spent several months in Iraq summer of 2004, Sean deploys July 2005.
Dave and I were involved in 4H (horses) & Boy Scouts during the kids younger years. Now that they're grown we've traded the horses and camping for our Heritage Softail and motorhome.

I enjoy, quilting, beading, reading, and movies but my special passion is riding - gives me a real sense of freedom and blows all my troubles in the wind. I enjoy riding with my 'chauffeur' (Dave) most, having crashed several years ago, but have recently started riding again myself - will be riding Sean's Softail Custom while he's deployed!
I worked in banking and was a stay at home mom until 1993 when I joined PeaceHealth's Behavioral Health system, where I work as an administrative assistant. In October 2004 I obtained my realtor's license so have been enjoying a second career preparing to gear down in a few years.
Our 20 year reunion was an eye opener for me as few people even remembered me - guess that's 'cause I was pretty quiet in school. Some things change. . .
I try to stay in contact with my close friends from high school and hope now that life is slowing down with kids grown I can rekindle other old friendships and make new ones.
