Debbie Harbert:

CLASS OF 1969
West covina, CA

Debbie's Story

Life I have been married 37 years to James Harbert. We traveled the states for years, working some very interesting jobs. We also rode a motorcycle, from Washington State to California and all states to Ohio, it was done when there was a gas sold only at certain times. A lot of great stories and memories i would never trade. We finally stop the rode traveling and settled in Ark. well i thought we were settled there, but after a couple of years, we decided to move to Reno, Nevada. That is were we so very pleased to have our 1st child, Tina, who is now 32 years old. Well we found out at that time in Nevada was not a place to raise a child,.was way to expensive, so we moved to Boise, Idaho. We had another child, Terese, who died at age 7. We loved it there,,we were there 5 years, til my mom had a stroke, so we moved to Lynnwood, Wa, so i can help take care of her. She died 2007. Still here 2010. I just lost my husband Nov. 21, 2010, he would have been 69 years old on the 24th of Nov. He died from CHF (congestive heart failure) which he has suffered since 1998. Tina, my daughter, and I have no plans to move from Lynnwoo...Expand for more
d, Wa. She lives with her boyfriend. My dog, jewel, 3 cats and I will live in our same home. I had fun at West Covina High, with my friends. I any of you that remember me, please make contact, so far i have had reconnected with one of my old friends. If it helps i was always the short one, and sometimes the quiet/shy one, my favorite class was sewing and cooking. In life was not a good cook, my husband used to laugh when he would ask what is for dinner, i would say, 'It is a surprise!'. But, was a very good sewer in life, made most of my moms clothes, also for me, then made all of my children clothes, then just the girls dress and summer clothes til Tina decided she didn't want so much home made. Now i have not sewed for about 10 years. Back to school, i also had my share of getting in trouble, well......in 4 years maybe once a year, i had very good friends. I loved to dance, still do. That is about all with me, for now. Oh, for all my friends who remember me sleeping a lot in and out of class. Come to find out i actually had and still have a sleeping disorder, Narcolepsey, it got so bad that i am disabled now.
