I am blessed to have reached reached 69; at times it seems like it happened overnight! I got married right after high school and 7 years later I began having children. Bethany and Jonathan were 19 months apart. They gave me more delight as they grew up than I ever could have imagined, but through them I also saw how much I needed to depend on the grace and mercy of God. I married a month after graduation. I worked for the Orange County Assessor's Office for a few years then as a couple we pursued a calling to serve God and invest in the lives of others through The Salvation Army. After 2 years of intense training I served nearly 5 years as an officer 1 yr. at the training college, and then in Laramie and Cheyenne, Wyoming. I continued to want to minister to hurting people aside from our regular Salvation Army duties and decided to become a hospital chaplain in Laramie, Wyoming. A critical family situation arose not long after our transfer to Cheyenne, Wyoming, and I had no choice but to leave this work I loved so much.. A few years later I found joy in becoming a para-professional (teachers assistant) and later a school secretary in an elementary school.
