Debbie's Story

My favorite way to relax is clean my house or do some gardening...weird.. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have coffee, my phone, and food to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My hero is my husband..he always takes a licken and keeps right on tickin cause he is a watchmaker. We have always lived here in Cedar Rapids, no where else. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Debbie Richards, because we were pretty good friends in High School.. Reality TV is fun, I love to watch HGTV and Fox news. Biggest surprise or shock was last summer's flood, it took our business/living in downtown CR. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my outside deck and add on a three season room, huge with lots of windows, paint it yellow. My dream home would be big enough to be extra organized. If I won $100 million, I'd give some of it to charity, then spend the rest on family, food and another home. My current age is 53. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old and grouchy. I was so completely unknowing. ...at my age? No career in mind except for NOT working... My best friend would tell you I'm kind and giving, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as quiet and shy. ..after three kids, give me stretch pants and...Expand for more
a tee shirt please. I share my home with husband Ron, which I find amazing to put up with me. My oldest friend is Denise. We worked together in the same small office, we are the same, so we get along well. My first job was at Pine Inn Truck Stop, where I got paid pennies to sling hash. What I remember most about it is meeting all kinds of different people. ...going on the one and only family vacation to Colorado when I was 14... ..I hope old friends remember me as funny, sincere and truthful. I always wanted to be rich when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a bad idea idea. As it turns out, they were right, cause I'm not. Who relaxes these days? The wildest thing I ever did in high school? I went on the skip day....never thought that angel Debbie would skip school.. Who is my hero? My husband Ron. He keeps me grounded, is my best friend for life, we have been thru alot together. Keep a young heart. Always tell them you love them, especially when they are teens, then they won't necessarily have to hear it from someone else till they are old enough to mean it. When I got my first bike, that is my favorite childhood memory. Christmas...my brothers both got black ones and I got a green one....I wanted a pink one of course. Wish I still had that bike.
