Debbie's Story

I grew up in Thomas Manor. Went to school with many of the same kids from Thomas Manor Elementary to Riverside Junior High through Riverside High School. In Junior High, I sang with the choir, or as Columba would say, I "screeched" with them. I also was a munchkin in the Wizard of Oz performance. I became more serious in high school. y with drama or musical performances). But I had many long time friends from elementary on. My first 2 years of college, I went to UTEP. I loved it there! But then I joined the convent and finished school in San Antonio. This is when I lost track of many friends. I became a classroom teacher. I taught in El Paso but then moved to Wichita, Ks where I continue to live and teach. I eventually left the convent. I continue to love the teaching career. I am in a committed relationship. I never had my own children but have a stepson that has honored me with the grandchildren I would otherwise never have had.
