Debbie's Story
I moved here to Ky in l982. Married a year later. We have three children. Divorced in l991. My eldest; a girl is married. My boys are 21 and 19 and live at home with me. In a relationship. Retired this month. Am trying out relaxing for the first time in many many years. We have traveled some, and hope to do a lot more traveling. Thinking of moving back to the Dayton area, but not sure yet of what I will do. deblynn 55 at bellsouth dot net is my address. Now I will do the Q & A part...I always wanted to be a nurse. Family thought it was feasable and I did become a nurse. Went to Sinclair College, and then to Emory University. I read to relax, and crochae, color, paint, play guitar and sing. Hum, the wildest thing I did in high school???.....I wasn't very wild, but I did go out with friends to a ball game, and got home after everyone was in bed. I put a ladder up to the bedroom window, and climbed up and in, while a neighbor called my aunt and uncle and said someone was breaking into their home. My uncle was downstairs in a flash with a shotgun while I was brushing my teeth. My aunt asked if I had heard anyone trying to break in, and I just said I hadn't heard a thing. My heros?...teachers, my sisters and brothers, my mom and dad. I lived in Dayton all my life until 1982. Tom Shaffer and I had divorced, and two of my sisters lived in Ky. I moved here too. Who would I like to see from my past?....I would love to have another high school reu...Expand for more
nion. The last one I attended was the l0 year reunion. It was fun. Pets?...yeah, a pitt bull and two birds. I had a pond, and an aquarium, but got rid of them recently. Ken is teaching me the electric guitar. :) Surprises in life??...Well, I am surprised I have reached retirement. Improving my home?...ok, well, I planned on giving this home to my boys. After they live in it for a while, it will need a lot of work. LOL. My sister Cher has been sending me a lot of home sitings that are for sale in Dayton. There sure are a lot of houses foreclosing in that area now. What I have learned from my kids....That parenting is the hardest thing I have ever tried to do. What teacher do I want to see....actually, Mrs Dunlap from gradeschool...3rd grade at Emerson. I I had lots of money?.... I would build homes in one big area and give one to each of my siblings. I lived in a girls dorm when I went to Emory. Fun. To be truly happy?....I am truly happy. I have three wonderful kids and two grandkids, and a wonderful man in my life. My age?...53. Oh, I see where that question is going...LOL. Yeah, I used to think this age was soooooo old. I can remember my dad saying go and get your poor ol daddy a beer out of the fridge. He never made it past 33 years of age. He was NEVER old. I am retired. I don't plan on having a career, but maybe I could serve coffee in a shoppe. Maybe not, maybe I will just travel around and have fun. Yeah, thats what I will do.
