Debbie's Story

I moved from Los Amigos High School after my sophmore year to Placentia, CA. I finished school there and then joined the Army in 1976. Spent 3 1/2 years enlisted and met my husband while stationed at Ft. Rutger, Alabama. We were then stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas and both of us got out of the Army and decided to go to college. He went for theology and I got my degree in Social Work. We have been pastoring for the last 30+ years and now live in Lincoln, Nebraska. We have two wonderful kids who are now 28 and 24. both live here in Lincoln and I enjoy having them close by. No grand kids yet but I look forward to that day! I love life and enjoy each day. I had breast cancer over 6 years ago and I changed my lifestyle completely and am doing really well. I got into running and me and my daughter run together and have done several races. We ran our first half-marathon over a year ago and plan on doing it again this next year. Life has been a journey, not always easy, but rewarding. I am very thankful to be here and have what I do.
