Debbie's Story
After high school, I went to Marshall University and roomed with Bonnie Hare.I have lost touch with Bonnie. The last time I saw her, I was pregnant with my oldest daughter, who is now 36! I finished my freshman year at Marshall and went back for my sophomore year. I went to classes for about 2 weeks, dropped out of school and married my husband,Lonnie. We have been married 37 years. He is from the Huntington area. We lived in Huntington for about a year, and when our daughter Kelly was about 3 months old a much better job for Lonnie, brought us to Lima,Oh and we have been here ever since! Our daughter Amy is 33. We have 4 natural grandchildren and 1 step grandchild. Two oldest granchildren belong to our oldest daughter,Kelly and son-in-law Geff. Jenna is 14 and Ty is 13. They live in Charlotte,NC. Amy and her husband Scott live here in Ohio. Ethan who is 10 is Scott's son from a previous marriage. Ayden is 6 and my newest little princess,Avery is 8 months old. This completes our family. My mom and dad left Iaeger in 1997 to live in Lima to be near me. My dad was having health problems and I am an only child. My parents were only here about 6 months when he was diagnosed with brain cancer. The Lord called him home 6 months later. He has been gone 10 years now.I still miss him so much. My mom is 77 and still in pretty good health. We live ...Expand for more
about 3 miles from her.I work at Lima Memorial Hospital in patient registration. I have worked there almost 6 years. I really like my job and plan to retire from this job. I have worked several different places, over the years. I worked for United Telephone Company for 13 years, but quit there to spend more time with my girls before they were gone!!I was a pharmacy tech for about 6 years, worked at a Christian book store for about 4 years. I think the hospital will be my last stop!!We built a new house in 2007 and live on a little over 2 acres. Our other 2 homes were in subdivisions. It is nice to have a little more space and neighbors a little farther apart! We attend Lima Baptist Temple here in Lima.We get down to Iaeger about once a year, usually in June. I have an aunt and a cousin, that we visit.I think this pretty much completes my story.I did attend the 20th class reunion. It would be nice if we would have another one! Our home for the first time in years is pet free. Our American Eskimo dog Zoe, was killed by a car New Years Eve. She was 12 years old and we had her 11 years. We both miss her so much and have decided she was just not a pet that we could easily replace!! For the first time in many years,it is just the 2 of us!! Zoe is the dog in our picture. Our oldest grandaughter took that picture of us on Thanksgiving Day!
