Debbie's Story
My first job was at Chris and Pitts BBQ, on Victory in Van Nuys and I made $1.60 an hour whoohoo, I was only 15, so as soon as turned 16, I made a huge career change and became a nurses aide at the Jewish Home for The Aged in Reseda, accompanying this change was a huge raise in pay,....$1.68 per hour.....I knew I was on the right track now. AIDS patients before it had a name, worked in "The Studios" as a first aide person, worked in Hospice, and finally settled in my current profession as a psychiatric nurse and have done this since 1989 . I also work in research for Alzheimers disease. I have one wonderful son in college right now, two cats and a dog . My life is busy but I like that! I like a good movie to relax, or going out to eat and kibbitzing with friends.
