Debbie's Story
Life
I celebrated my 13th anniversary with my husband Larry on 08/27/07. I have 4 kids, Kirstin 12, Ryan 9, Rose 8 & Connor 3. I finally made the leap and moved off of Long Island on 02/26/07 to Cobleskill NY which is about 30 miles west of Albany (right near Howe Caverns). We own a huge old farmhouse (about 130 years old) on 10 acres. Our back yard overlooks a quiet valley with a nice view of the Catskill Mountains behind it.
We spend most of our time involved with motocross where as my son Ryan has been racing since he was 5 years old. Motocross has pretty much become a way of life for us. We travel all over to different events in our motorhome and stay at the track for sometimes 3 days at a time. He had a great season this year taking 2 class championships at local tracks, 3rd at the NYS Championships ...Expand for more
at Walden, & 18th at the New England Regionals. My girls also ride but they do not race. My son Connor just got his first dirtbike for his 3rd birthday and will begin racing at the ripe old age of 4.
I am a licensed insurance agent and currently work at an agency here in Cobleskill. Prior to the move I worked at GEICO for 12 years and was a supervisor in the underwriting dept when I left.
Life here on the farm is sure different from LI and I'm still getting used hearing my neighbors cows mooing and seeing tractors going up and down the block! My favorite thing to do besides kayaking down the local creek is to sit in my backyard having a cold drink while looking at the georgeous view.
School
My most inspiring teacher is definately Mr Gallo. If I could do it all over again would I?......some of it.
