Debbie's Story

Life I was a crazy, throw caution to the wind teen. If only I knew then what I know now (can't we all say that :) My friends would probably be amazed at the way my life actually turned out. I live comfortably in a suburb of Seattle Washington with my husband and 4 children. I did have a career in sales & marketing but chose to be a stay at home mom after the birth of my 3rd child. My kids have taught me so much about what is important in life. They keep me young and up with the changing of generational changes. I love having the home where all of the teenagers hang out so I can make sure my daughters don't make the same mistakes I did. I am proud of my kids. My oldest daughter is a straight A student in college. My 18 year old daughter is graduating high school this year and doing very well. She is more artsy and very good at it. She and I go to a lot of fun (not too loud) concerts together. My boys and I, well we just have fun with soccer and exploring the world together. I homeschooled for a while and am considering doing it again. I see a huge difference in public school learning as opposed to teaching with love at home. School can be a very stressful and cruel place. Not to mention bad influences in abundance. As I grow older, I realize how much I miss my old acquaintances and how fast life is rushing by. member the importance of yourself and your own life. Somehow you lose touch with people you would love to have kept in touch with and rekindle old friendships. That is my hope with classmates.com and I am thankful for the option of having such a useful tool in trying to accomplish just that. Oh, and for all of you Bellflower High School graduates, did you know that you can order a yearbook cd of any grad year for $15? I don't know of any other school that do that. Just google it and you can find out more info. Well, I hope that some of my old friends can email me and tell me how their lives are turning out. I see in some discussion areas where some people have already deceased. It's sad and eye opening on how short of a time we have the chance to keep in touch. God bless you all and Happy 2007! School In school, the teacher that inspired me the most was actually a basketball coach who also taught English. He was so inspiring in that he enjoyed any student who really listened and got what he was teaching. His enthusiasm made him so proud of you and he made you feel like you mattered. I always remembered his way of making my life feel like I was worth more than just a paycheck to him. Teachers like that are so rare and should all be bottled and sold to every school so more kids could feel that important. He taught me that education is a privilege and not a chore.
