One of Debbra's favorite quotes is:"". . .and when you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance." (. . .and if you say this isn't a quote, but rather, lyrics to a song. . .then you'd be right.)". More about Debbra:"(Also see my 2 pages: "Debbra" with creative stories and writing, and "Holly Bird", for a little entertainment. More pages in the future maybe. I have music on "Debbra", "Holly Bird", and my myspace page.) I started the "Tea Party" movement. I posted on a conservative website the idea of uniting to take a stand for "no taxation without representation" when the Stimulus package was being forced through without being read by our elected representatives. I used the original Revolutionary War Boston Tea Party as the example when I read several posts that supported the news that several States were already taking legal action filing in their State Supreme Courts to "secede" from the United States. (Unbelievable that our leaders found this to be the only resort. How WEAK!) It would have been typical of an outsider trying to tear us apart from within. I question their loyalties. I believe in uniting and fixing, and getting stronger. :) E Pluribus Unum. And the Occupy Wall Street movement...I support the voice behind this too. The 99% who have been scammed and stolen from far too long by the 1% are finally saying, "Enough!" And taxing after the 1% takes more than their share doesn't cut it. Need to bring lost jobs back home to the U.S., pay workers an honest wage for their contribution to the greatness of our nation, and make Wall Street investors keep investments IN the companies for a year! Minimum. Like a CD!. It's a PRIVILEDGE to invest in America, and the money belongs to the 100% of us for our contributions...our minds, our hands, our skills, our time. From Maintenance and Housekeeping of a business, to the CEO. No more leaving crumbs for the 99% and PIGGING OUT on the rest of the pie by the 1%. Make pay scales more even to support EVERYONE making a living for their daily labor and time. Someone who leads a business as an owner to great profitability is of great value to our nation, and should be rewarded. But an investor who sits back and puts his savings into company A in the morning, then removes it the next day from speculative gains, to reinvest in the next company,...Expand for more
never caring how many jobs were lost (jobs are almost ALWAYS the first thing cut in order to satisfy blood-thirsty shareholders/stockholders.) INSTEAD, the investments should be put INTO the company with an understanding that TIME must be invested. TIME is money. Investment should be for growth of wealth for ALL stakeholders (which INCLUDES employees and families who depend on a means of living...and UNIONS should NOT be the enemy of Employers...instead, the JUSTICE SYSTEM should do more to protect our citizens and employees, and the businesses not be BURDENED by the greed of shareholders. Shareholders should INSTEAD..."DIVERSIFY" their means of making a living...get out there and WORK! Stop stealing jobs out from under the lives of the rest of us who DO WORK! The concept of GAMBLING investment has finally shown the U.S. how DANGEROUS it is for our ideals and way of life. It is NOT acceptable. As warned by Adam Smith in "The Wealth of Nations", the greed has gutted our foundation. It did NOT have to be this way. NOW is the time to reverse the damage and pave a NEW more honest Capitalism to protect 100% of us under the Constitution.) Our nation's greatness belongs to ALL of us. JUST taxing after the fact IS NOT good enough anymore. Our financial system is CORRUPT and is WEAKENING our Nation's sovereignty. Our financial system can still thrive with Capitalism, but not with the Wall Street brand of Capitalism. Our financial system DENIES the rights given to ALL of us in the U.S. Constitution. And our JUSTICE SYSTEM is FAILING to defend Constitutional rights ABOVE the screwed up financial system we have in place. Don't be fooled by the Liberal and Conservative extremes in politically high places that say these two movements are left and right. These movements are BOTH the voice of the people. Sometimes they get misguided and media twists, and the wrong people jump on top to force it into their political agendas. But you must remember that this is actually a people's movement because the politicians are NOT doing their job. BOTH movements are the people's voice, and leaders, politicians, and judges have an opportunity to participate in helping us get back to the strong nation we used to be, with ideals of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. An echo of a shot heard 'round the world, and once again give substance to the ideals represented in our Statue of Liberty. We must not allow OUR generation to miss this chance of a life-time to be bold and be true to our Constitution and Flag. Shame on any politician who bad-mouths either the Tea Party OR the Occupy Wall Street movement or twists the movement to push the status quo for their party and the next election. This is NOT about Progressivism. This is NOT avout Conservatism. This is about our Nation. It's time to fix it and make it the best it can be for ALL of us.".
