Debby's Story
Life
I live in Edinburg, Pa which is less than 15 minutes east from Youngstown, Ohio; I was a member of a local Rotary Club and served as president, sang with a civic choir and was a Case Manager with a local agency with a caseload of over 100 clients. I live 90 minutes from my daughter/son-in-law and her twins (2013) and about 8 hours from my son/daughter-in-law and their 2 (age 6 & ) in Greensboro. My daughter is a 3rd grade teacher, her husband is a sales rep for a manufacturing company in Pittsburgh, my son is a buyer for an aerospace company in Winston-Salem, and my daughter-in-law is the Varsity Swimming Coach for Greensboro College. I like "digging in the dirt" so I have several gardens but you can't eat anything I grow unless you like tulips and roses! I still read a great deal (I always had a library book with me in high school) and really enjoy cooking. My husband is of Sicilian heritage so I've learned to cook things I never heard of after we got married in 2007.
Workplace

s, I've worked in the Lawrence County PA CareerLink as a case manager (10 yrs.) for a federal program assisting people in returning to school or job searching.I worked with a different federal grant encouraging people to return to manufacturing as a career. I visit with employers and work with job seekers who come into our CareerLink. When that grant ended, I was transferred into a state program assisting people coming out of welfare into the job market..... I actually get paid to talk!
Travel
I only have a cousin and my friend Dede left in Martinsville but my son now lives in Greensboro so I head south a couple of times a year to see my grandchildren. I've been to the past 4 class reunions and really enjoyed catching up with everyone. I took my husband to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge 2 yrs. ago because he'd never seen the Smokies (I was born in TN and graduated from East Tenn. State) and he qulckly "took" to the relaxed change of pace.
