Debby's Story
Debby was born in Syracuse, New York. She is single and the mother of three adult children. Debby attended Old Dominion University, Virginia where she obtained degrees in Counseling, Psychology and Early Childhood Special Education. Additional studies include post graduate work at the University of Dayton in Theology. Debby retired in June 2020 and now splits her time between visiting Florence, Italy where her daughter lives and traveling Europe and Asia. She worked for Prince William County Public Schools in Northern Virginia as a Professional Development Specialist. Debby owned her own business, Educational Solutions and tutored children with Dyslexia. She is currently doing course work online from Yale, University.

to natural disaster areas to help educators write grants and fundraise. She was a National Ambassador for Donorschoose.org. Debby was awarded an Abraham Lincoln Fellowship in 2012 and was inducted into the Teachers Hall of Fame the same year. Debby helped raise over a million dollars for schools in natural disaster areas and was recognized by the Department of Education and Secretary Arnie Duncan for her volunteer efforts in Joplin, MO.
Music - Debby enjoys the Beatles, Coldplay, Adele, Chicago and James Taylor. Books she likes include anything Historical - Enchantment. Movies she likes include Lincoln, Les Miserable, Gettysburg, PS22 Chorus Documentary-Once in a Lullaby. TV shows she likes include the History Channel.
