Debby Gargus's Story
Life
I have been married to my husband, Roger for 7 years now. We met in the military about 15 years ago. We have 4 children between us and the all live with us!! I have Chelsea, 19, Tyler, 17, and he has Lacey, 17 and Haley 15. Needless to say with 4 teenages it gets quite hectic at our house!!
Workplace
I am an Aerospace Ground Equipment Mechanic in the Air Force Reserves at Barksdale AFB Louisiana. I actually love my job! I work on the support equipment used to maintain the B-52 bombers and the A-10 aircraft. Generators, Heaters, Air Compressors, Turbine engines, etc.
Military

a year after high school. I served 10 years on active duty, in places like Oklahoma, Illinois, Louisiana and Korea. After getting out of the military, I moved back home to Kentucky for about 5 years. During that time I was in the Air Force Reserves at Scott AFB in Illinois. I was offered a civilian position at Barksdale AFB in Louisiana so I moved here. I never thought this would be where I would raise my family!! I love it here. I was activated after 9/11 and spent several months deployed to the island of Guam. My most recent trip was to Moron AB in Spain. I love the travel opportunities I get from the Reserves!!
