It's a short story ... I was married to a wonderful man, Ray Dick, Glendale High '69, and we lived and loved and played and worked together until his death in 2006. We had a security alarm company so for 24 years I worked in the field as an engineer / installer in all fields of low voltage system integration. I continued on by myself for a couple of years - drilling and wiring and installing alarms and sound systems, etc...it's pretty Zen pulling wires in an attic in 114 degrees...but the time came to close that chapter. A bad arm fracture helped to convince me, but the real reason was choosing to take care of my beautiful grandson, Aiden. Aiden was only four months old when Ray passed away and he quickly became my heart. I'm so blessed he was here to keep me going. Aiden - now five years old - and his father, who is my handsome and talented son, Dan Dick, live with me in the same 99 year old Craftsman bungalow that both my kids were born in.
