Debi's Story
I loved high school . I was active in student government and the music department. Life was carefree and easy back then (at the time I didn't think so). After graduating Sewhanaka High School I was accepted to study at Queens Hospital Center School of Nursing where I trained and studied to become a Registered Nurse (RN).
An opportunity to work for an International Airline was offered and I decided to leave my Nursing career to see the world. I thought that it would only be for a year and then I'd go back to Nursing. Well it didn't happen, I loved traveling too much and took the opportunity to see the world and travel the globe. I worked for a few different International Airlines during an18 year career. I then decided to leave the Airlines, become my own boss and open my own Travel Agency. I am still a Travel Agent, but no longer have a store front location and work from ho...Expand for more
me (love it, I can work in my slippers).
In 1982 I met a wonderful man, we fell in love and in a short few months married. I left Long Island and moved to San Francisco where Rick was living. Rick had grown up in NJ but went out to California to attend the University of California Berkely and never moved back east again. We've been happily married for over 37 years and have one son, Matt.
Life has been very good . I give thanks to God for all I've been blessed with. God's the head of our home.
Thanks to FB and other social media I have been able to reconnect with many friends I've known from elementary through high school. I've enjoyed going back "home" to Long Island to visit with them. It's like no time has gone by. We still joke with each other like we were kids again. I've know many of these people for over 50 years and hope for many more years of friendship with them.
