It's January and a time of reflection. So somehow I wound up wondering how high school and college friends are doing now in their 50's... I didn't do the traditional thing: I didn't get married, have kids, or have a big career. What I did do: I went to college to get my teaching credential, in hopes of becoming a missionary. I spent a summer in Honduras in a mission assignment and realized the mission life wasn't for me. I got a M.A. in teaching the blind, couldn't find a job, so went into nursing. In between I went to Colorado and lived in the mts. and learned to ski. So after I graduated from nursing school, I moved to Wrightwood since I loved living in the mts. and skiing.
