Deborah(Debbie)'s Story
Life
I graduated from UNO in 1974 with a degree in Elementary Education. I am a Jefferson Parish teacher. I have been married to my husband, Kerry Petit, Sr., since July 19, 1975. We have three children-Blake, Kerry(Chip), Jr., and Heather. Two of the three are married. All three graduated from Nicholls State University, like their dad, with bachelors degrees. Chip went on to LSU and received a masters degree in information systems. He works for Capital One Bank. Blake is currently teaching high school English and working on his certification. Heather is the videographer for St. Charles Parish. Heather and Blake are actively involved in community theater, and frequently act, direct, and/or produce plays for the Thibodaux Playhouse. Kerry and I really enjoy attending these plays and supporting them. We have two pet cats, and they are spoiled rotten!

igh school English teacher. Heather is taking graduate courses in animation and graphics and continues to work, and Chip continues his bank position. Heather and her husband Will are the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl, Maggie. She was born in October 2010. Chip's wife Kayla gave birth to their first baby, another beautiful girl, born April 24, 2012, named Adalyn. Finally, I have retired, after almost 31 years in the classroom. I highly recommend it. I feel like I have a new lease on life, especially since my little Maggie lives next door. She keeps her Pop and Mimi busy. I've taken out my sewing machine, my crochet hooks, and my Cricut. I'm enjoying renewing my hobbies. I'll soon dig out my oils and paintbrushes, and take up painting again. I've also been reading a lot more since I've retired, and I'm very often on the computer, keeping in touch with family and friends. I have recently joined the facebook crowd.
