Deborah's Story
Hello Classmates, I have some nice memories of Nogales, but sorry to say, my memory of peoples names is very weak. I wish we had youtube back then. It would be so nice to view our childhood to see what really happened. Please feel free to remind me of any encounters, regardless of how vague. I am getting to know this site little by little. It would be nice to attend a reunion if one is coming up.
I make art and sell rugs. I live in Santa Monica CA presently with my Pug and am rather involved in West Coast Swing on an amature level. I used to love going to the dances in school. I recall we had Square Dance Lessons too, which I also enjoyed. I don't recall hanging out with many people, I was very shy and a bit insecure. (Maybe still am.) I also recall archery and the giant tarantulas out in the field.
After seeing Bonnie and Clyde, that same weekend, I made the outfit Bonnie wore in the movie. It was a midi skirt meaning it came just below her knee1 inch! I got suspended from school for wearing my skirt 1 inche below my knee- it was TOO LONG!!! At that time mini skirts were in. So to be sent h...Expand for more
ome for my conservative looking suit, was mind blowing. I didnt even get in trouble for it when I got home, my step mom just shook her head.
I recall Mrs. Knight. She was a dear soul. So patient and kind, well meaning and supportive. I often wonder what ever happened to her. For the most part I managed to stay out of trouble in school. Wish I'd been a better student with better study habits. But glad I at least graduated. I try to recall my days at Nogales. Actually I don't really enjoy how I lived my life for the most part. I wish I'd made better choices but at least I survived thus far. I guess that counts. But I wish I'd have focused more on my grades and long term future goals. I apologise if I don't remember you or your comments. I wish I could recall more, but at least I don't have many horrible memories. Nogales was an ok place for me. I lived across the street from the school. But I don't think I'd want to re live those years, unless of course I could study harder and get all good grades.
