I am going back to school to get my BS in interpreting ASL. I feel that there is a great need for interpreter in this area due to the large number of people that live her because of Galluedet University right in D.C. Usually when people come here to go to school they end up finding someone to marry and they settle down here. ASL is a very rewarding experience, it is a very beautiful language. a very long and successful career in Medicine but I feel the need to HELP the deaf and hard of hearing people.
Workplace
I have been in Medicine for the last 15 years. I have been an Allergy tech and also a Cardio tech. both of which I have found to be very rewarding. I now am a Clinical Supervisor of the Specialty Dept. at Patuxent Medical Group until I receive my ASL interpretqation degree. Then I will free lance for interpretation.
