Deborah's Story
Life
Hi Everyone!
I now live in CT and have one son and 3 grandchildren.
After high school I moved to the Boston area for a brief period of time and then relocated to Southern RI to attend college. I received my B.A. and Master's Degree.
I am semi retired - I currently teach English to Speakers of Other Languages. I I spent many years as a therapist, then moved into corporate America as a Corporate Trainer - then moved into the field as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for injured workers - and now am now teaching adults - from other countries English. I love it.
I always wanted to be a teacher/therapist when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right..
My favorite way to relax is by walking by myself, going for a swim, kayacking or going camping.
Oprah is my hero.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Linda ...Expand for more
Dyke, and Susan Titus because we were good friends. .
I am an animal lover with 3 little dogs and a cat.
I will be 65 on April 1st.
My career aspirations were teaching, helping others, being a therapist, and a writer. I have met these goals. The one goal I did not achieve was getting my Doctorate degree. I was accepted and ready to start but a divorce, and being a single parent moved me in another direction. I never seemed to make it a priority to obtain that goal.
Moving away from Mansfield after my high school graduation, I was so sad. My parents sold our home and moved to the Boston area. I loved living in Mansfield and don't think I would have ever left.
I am the happiest in my life than I have ever been now that I am in my 60's. I adore spending time with my grandchildren, I love my job and the folks I work with, I have time to stop and smell the roses, and I have a wonderful spouse.
