Deborah's Story
I was considered tall for a girl, thin and leggy. Most considered me to be plain. I was good in Math and Science but didn't care much for Social Studies. I never took a study hall. I loved and still love horses.
When I graduated I did not go to college (my father and I had a disagreement - I was willing to compromise, he was not). Ultimately, I attended a riding school - Morven Park International Equestrian Institute. The skills I learned there allowed me to be very successful with Thoroughbreds. I could break a "baby" and I could hold a tough "old" horse.
When I wasn't riding a 4 legged Horse I was on an "iron" horse. I became a Harley Davidson rider. My 1st bike was (and is..I still have it) a 1975 Sporster. When I went down on it, while it was being reconstructed I ...Expand for more
bought what "appeared " to be a 1972 Superglide. I say appeared, because that it is what it looked like. One night, while bar hopping in Baltimore, I ran into a big burly fella who told me it was and FLH. Turns out, running its VIN number thru HD it was! When my Sporster was finished being rebuilt I had the glide tore down and brought back up as she should be...I had to learn how to ride it all over again..the weight (760 lbs) changed how it handled considerably. She is affectionately called the "Beastie".
Thru motorcycling I met my current husband (of 24 years), Howard, a civilian DOD employee, at Daniel's in Elkridge, Md. We are now located in Texas on the outskirts of San Antonio.
Now, in Texas, work as a network support technician. How I so miss the east coast.
