CLASS OF 1969

Deborah's Story

Life Hey, I'm living in the Silverton hills with my cat named Boo. Since graduating I'v lived in OK, OR, CA, Germany, Many visits to Mexico. While in Europe I gave birth to my second daughter Heidi. She still lives in Albany. She chose a great son in law for me and gave me three beautiful grankids, Alyssa will graduate in a couple of years, Cody is into 4 wheel racing at the local track and football. Jenessa the youngest is a member of a nationally ranked cheer team that went to FL this year. She was going to quit because it takes a lot of time from family but after reaching the ultimate goal of Nationals she is on for another year. Remeber I married Marion Gutierrez in high school and we had many happy years before growing up and off to our separate ways. I worked in the Grass seed industry for several years. Traveling and reaching goals I didn't imagine possible. Next I married Money and that really didn't work out. Oh well I thought I was in love. I worked for a non-profit charity for 18 years. I learned the ropes with Special Olympics. And my real love was Find the Children for 16 of those years. I raised money like a bad mama-jama. Sometimes I was even able to use my special skills for searches. I retired at 30 and that lasted about 5 years before I ran out of money. Southern Cal was nice though I came back to Oregon in late 84 and have been in Salem and Silverton ever since. I retired again 3 years ago and ran out of money much quicker. Inflation or poor planning. I guess my retirement plan next will be the Oregon lotto. lol I live creekside about a mile from the resevior. I'm hoping to be a survivalist when I grow up. I think I'll have to. My oldest daughter was born at Ft. Sill OK during the height of the Viet Nam war. Yes I married, graduated, and had my first child in 1969 a very big year ...Expand for more
for me. I had a terrible accident in Dec of 79 or was it 80. Anyway I was in a coma for 11 days and it seems to have taken many of my HS memories away. I remember Butch Rex. And alot about Calapooia Jr High. But please feel free to fill me in. I hope I was nice to everyone. Traci lives in Seattle with my #1 son n law Richard. They have done so much for me. I miss seeing them. Tracis oldest is graduating this year and her youngest is the Apple of Mom Debbies eye. 4 yr old Daisy. Thats all for now. Since May I have changed jobs. This one I love so much more. It's in the Agriculture industry. A passion of mine. I work out in the country. It's called Staab Horticultural. We have a Silverton address & phone number but actually its about a 10 mile drive from my house. I love the view....I got here early enough to see that beautiful red sky to the east. That means sailors warning but all I've seen so far is a little rain and we do need it. My knees feel better today so maybe the weather has changed from summer to fall finally. My old joints just can't take hot one day cold and rainy the next. When it stays the same for a while it settles down. It was really a beautiful weekend. I went to a couple awsome estate sales and the likes. Another of my passions. I was also able to play in a small 9-ball tournament in Stayton last night. I've cashed out a few times but no luck yesterday. ooooo of course I still play a lick and will until either I can't see or can't move. I asked for help posting photos. And got some instructions. I am at work right now so when I get around to it I will post photo's of a few of my gran kids. I'll have to wait for photo's of me because who takes pictures of themselves. I'll get my kids or grans to do it. At least we all have digital cameras now. More to be revealed.
