Deborah's Story
I am married to Benny Haynes and living in Dallas. (My husband is NOT the Bennie Haines that graduated from Samuell in 1968. My husband graduated from Wilmer Hutchins in 1964.) I have worked for the same company for over 25 years. We sell orthopedic and spinal implants that are used in joint replacement surgery.
I have two children, Shannon(40) and Brian(35). My daughter married in 2008 and is living in Purcellville, Virginia. Along with my new son-in-law, I was blessed with two new grandchildren, Simon(14) and Audrey(12). My son is married and is living and working in Plano, Texas with his wife Ashley and son, Ian.
My parents are still living and are presently residing in the Mesquite area. They are still very active and keep me hopping. In fact, a few years ago, my old mother (80 at the time) got bored with staying home and she went and got sales a job at Macy's. She worked until she and dad sold their home.
My brother, Dennis and his wife, Janet are living in Mesquite. They have two children, Michael and Kristen and two precious grandchildren, Gunnar and Sophie. And I can't lea...Expand for more
ve out Michael's wonderful wife, Heather.
My sister, DeDe is married and living in Northern Alberta, Canada where it is too cold for any normal Texan! She has two sons, John and James.
My journey through this life may not have always led me where I thought it would, but it is still my journey. While most of it has been good, I had some very rocky detours along the way, as it is with many journeys. But, by the grace of God, I am still traveling.
As most of my classmates knew, I was adopted. I did make a special journey back in 1996 and I found my biological family. While this is not always a good thing, it has been a very good for me. As my sister, DeDe said when she found her family, "It's like looking in a mirror for the first time!" I have 1 full blooded sister and 10 half brothers and sisters not including my brother and sister I grew up with. What a trip!
One thing that I am sure of is that family and friends are gifts that are to be treasured forever. Don't ever take them for granted.
Dance like nobody's watching, sing like nobody's listening, and love like you've never been hurt!
