Deborah's Story
Life
Well, I got older. And I waited til I was 37 to have my first child. A beautiful, smart daughter. So while every one is getting to enjoy their grandchildren, I'm trying to get my teenager to get off the computer and get the ipod out of her ear. She works in the corner grocery store and deli her daddy owns and she attends Ursuline Academy in New Orleans. Well, she will start back next month, since she was a refugee in a high school in High Island, Texas for a while and then at a different Catholic girls school that didn't get damaged. We survived the storm, the flood waters and even the looters missed us. God was good to us.

ve lots of re-located kids too. The storm was hard on a lot of folks here, and you cannot even begin to understand the devastation unless you see it first hand. Television pictures don't even come close to reality.
My husband of 17 years owns a corner grocery/deli in the French Quarter. It has been his family business since the 20's, so we are here to stay. He even stayed through the storm. However, several days after the storm, he and several other family members and friends joined me and Mamie at Crystal Beach, Texas.
After our experiences, which are still not finished, I have had time to stop and think of all the times I had in high school and college. I had lots of thanks to deliver up for all the good that has been in my life.
