Deborah's Story

Life March 27th 2005 will be my 15th wedding anniversary. I have 4 children and have accomplished more then I could possibly dreamed. Many of you know my husband Michael Fotis. We went to Southwood together. We have known each other now for 23 years. He is 24 days older then me and we will both be 36 in July. I know a lot of my former classmates are interested in what I am doing or what I look like. The main reason is that most of you teased me in school. You made my life a living hell and made me hate going to school. You made me embarrassed for being poor, you made me embarrassed for being me. I had very few friends.. mostly I hung out with the burnouts, because they were the only ones who accepted me for who I was. I was a kid, and could not help the fact that I did not have Jordache jeans, or Nike shoes. I could not help the fact that my mother was a single parent trying to raise 4 children on her own. Hell I did not even know I was poor until my classmates pointed it out to me. In turn it made me a stronger person. My children have been taught not to tease their classmates because they do not know what their home life is like. I have a loving husband, an excellent job and a wonderful family. r time to appreciate it. I have great respect for my mother for making all the sacrafices she made for us. We never went without clothes, food, or shelter. She worked her fingers to the bone for her children. But I could not see it. I was blinded by resentment for not having what everyone else had. Now I realize that she poured her heart and soul into raising us. I believe she did a better job raising us then most of your parents did raising you. Otherwise you would have not been the snobs that you were. I'm not going to go into the personal aspects of my life because I feel it is none of your business. I have learned through my faith to forgive those of you who reaked havoc in my life. I am not the one who is going to pass judgement on you when the time comes anyways. So for all of you who have or continue to pass judgement on other people, you need to stop. You need to think about what you are doing to that persons feelings. You need to teach your own children that teasing someone for having less then you is wrong. My life is great and I love life. I am living every day like it is my last and enjoying every moment of it. TO THOSE OF YOU WHO WERE MY FRIENDS.. I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU !!! YOU ARE WELCOME TO EMAIL ME ANY TIME
