Deborah's Story
Life
I'm Married to Reginald(Captain USPHS) for 25 years. We have 4 children ages 18(boy),23(boy),26(girl),27(boy) and 3 grandchildren. We live in Maryland for the past 25 years. I am an RN working in an Emergency Department. (have been a critical care RN X33 years) Spend most days being a mom and grand mom, as I work only part-time. Enjoy stock analysis and investing online as well as reading, hiking and kayaking. I am a Christian and attend a non-denominational church. I don't resemble the girl I used to be in High School.(my troubled years) So thats a good thing. We do go up to Rhode Island during some summers to visit the family and hit the beaches , which are alot nicer than the ones down here. We also enjoy sailing on my sisters 36 foot sailboat when we're up there. (Yes, Cathy is a captain of her own sailboat!)
School
Never had a "crush" so to speak. My most influential teacher was Mr. Mancu...Expand for more
so from Park View Jr. High who apparently became a DJ. I enjoyed learning how to study Beatle songs, and it was the first time I found English to be fun. I later enjoyed English Literature in College, for the same reasons...loved metaphors and allegories. I find Platos allegory of the cave a fascinating one with much Christian themes...I wonder if Socrates was somewhat misquoted ie...did Plato mean to write the "sun" of righteouness, or did Socrates mean the "Son of Righteousness" and Plato missed it...the world may never know. Most of my K-12 memories are a blur and mostly unhappy due to family troubles and my rebellion in reaction to it. Mostly, I didn't enjoy High School-I thought it was a waste of time. In theory, I realize it wasn't, but I thought it was. I tried the patience of most of my teachers. College/post college brought greater joy and richness. Life in general, is the better education.
