Deborah Rosenberg:  

Life Shortly before graduation, and over the Summer of '82, I became involved with WSIA at College of Staten Island. So while I was figuring out what I did want to do with my life, after realizing that I didn't want to be a Special Ed teacher, I attended CSI. I studied Liberal Arts: Math, Sciences, Spanish, English Literature, Psychology, Sociology, and worked at the radio station as a DJ/programmer, and with NYPIRG (environmental justice issues). Over the summers, I was a camp lifeguard and counselor upstate NY. I also worked through the school year(s) as a Recreational Therapy tech with United Cerebral Palsy, a DJ at a club on Staten Island, and doing the nursery at a bowling alley for 3 leagues a week. Finally, I needed to know what I was meant to do, so I met with a counselor, took an Occupational Interest Survey, and discovered that I was supposed to be an Occupational Therapist. I finished my pre-requisites in the third year at CSI, and transferred to Downstate to begin Gross Anatomy and Intro to OT 5 days later. I graduated with my BS in Occupational Therapy at the end of 1987, and have loved it ever since. I live in SLC with my partner, Carla, our 2 dogs and cat, and near most of her family here in Utah. Carla is a professional artist, and graduated from BYU in 1980, right here in Utah. We had a Unitarian-Universalist wedding ceremony in July of 1992, two and a half years after I moved here and we met.
